Restless

Restless

Back at Pangani, we had a quiet afternoon where we Americans all began to feel restless. We had already seen so much and only brushed the surface on a few of the MOHI programs - we were inspired to give, to serve, to help. Yet, frustrated as there was so little we could do.

At this point, we have yet to realize the powerful impact of our presence on our hosts. We have come to work, yet they are encouraged simply that we have come.

While we cannot (and should not) "fix" the Kenyan challenges, we can stand alongside, look them in the eye, celebrate their loving spirit, acknowledge their struggle and triumph, encourage the work they have already begun, appreciate their accomplishments, encourage their unique gifts and hold them in our thoughts and prayers as we continue on.

We do not see the impact of this "work" - yet this work, this celebration of humanity - this is where you ignite hope within the hearts and minds of people. This is where impact is made!  This is where transformation begins!
